LitPick Review
Shadow Rise (the second book in the Shadow Fall series) is a science fiction book about Maia Greystone and her journey to save Earth. After Maia escapes from jail, she winds up finding her friends, only to find out that they, including her long-lost brother, think she is a traitor.
Riser, the boy she was already starting to fall for has decided to completely erase her existence from his memory. Max, Maia’s brother, does not want her around, and the memory wipe from Riser makes her feel all alone. With Pandora only weeks away, she has to find a way to get an army into the Emperor’s castle to find the device her father created to destroy the approaching asteroid. The only way to convince the others she isn't a traitor is to win in a simulated blood court against Riser. Maia gathers the few friends she does have and trusts to help her win the blood court. She will have to face her fears of hurting Riser and ignoring their past together to save thousands of people from Pandora.
Opinion:
Shadow Rise was even better than Shadow Fall. Audrey Grey has a way of pulling me into her books, and I get so caught up in the emotions and characters that I forget the book isn't a true story. I even sometimes wish that I were one of the characters. I enjoyed the emotions, action, adventure, suspense, and romance. I was sad to see that there are no other books in the series; I wish these books could go on forever.
