Sebastian is a lonely kid who lives with a father who does not care about him and is an alcoholic. His uncle, who's wealthy, decides to take Sebastian under his wing and help pay for his college, as long as he works hard. When Sebastian graduates, he takes a job at his uncle's company and moves to Chicago. In Chicago, the government is falling apart and is being taken over by Super Heroes, who were created when they were out in the rain during a crazy storm.

Sebastian decides that he can be a hero without powers and instead use his brain and money to make himself as good as the other heroes. One problem. There are bad guys, too, and sometimes the line between good and bad gets a little blurred.

Read The Cape to find out how Sebastian overcomes his past and battles relationships while trying to pick a side in the never-ending battle that occurs when the good people aren't always good and the bad aren't always evil.

Opinion:

This is a very well-written story that shows the blurred lines of good and evil that are our reality. This novel encompasses the truth of how power and money change people. The characters are well-developed with intricate pasts that shine through their masks. The author created a time and place that could very well happen today. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone wanting to read a superhero story.
