When Mary wakes up not knowing anything about anyone, traveling on a train to a car  with a woman she does not know, heading to the Greyache house with people who she has never met, she is quite uncomfortable and uneasy. When she gets to the house, she is greeted by a horrid man (butler) and a kind young woman named Mary (maid) and she is confused and very tired. She was under the impression that she was sent there to be a maid and had to do some chores before resting. Instead, she goes to an old shack that is a little ways into the woods near the house. When she gets there, she sees a big tarp covering a rocking horse! When somebody says something she jumps; first thinking it is the horse. What an absurd idea she tells herself: rocking horses don’t talk. She leaves as it starts to get dark. But, when things get messy inside the house, she and Mary run to the shed. When she gets to the shed, the horse starts talking again, telling her to get on it and rock. But, when she does (quite confused) it takes them to a very strange and different place. How will they get out? Will she and the horse (Sunrise) get out alive?

Opinion:

I like this book a lot because it is very adventurous and exciting. It always keeps you thinking and guessing what is going to happen next. Also, it is always changing and leading to things you never thought could or would happen. The plot just flows into chapters, making everything make sense in due time. You may be confused about something for a little bit, but when you find what you are looking for, it makes so much sense why the author kept it from you. It felt like the author was passionate about the story, and that came through in the writing. I loved this book so much I would read the a second book in a heart beat.
