Growing Up Dead is about a vampire kid named Nox and his band, the Daybreakers. Nox likes this girl named Lila, but she is dating a boy named Razor. Razor is trying to get Lila into his band so they can win The Battle of the Bands at the Pink-Striped graveyard. But, Nox’s parents won’t let him go play in his band after Razor and this bully named Chug (Chug loves to get lunch money from Nox) team up to get vampires banned from the graveyard. When they do get vampire’s banned, Nox’s band has to find another person that can play in his place. They realize that Lila is good at singing and would be great with them, so they try to convince her of the truth about Razor and his scheme. Will they get Lila to join their band? Can they win the Battle of the Bands if they do?
Opinion:
Growing Up Dead is a great book because it is easy to understand, so many people can read if they would like. But readers under 7 probably wouldn't be able to keep up with the plot. It is also good because it leaves some suspense at the end of the chapters, which keeps you hooked and wanting to read more. The story starts in an interesting way right off of the bat and it captured my curiosity. Also the book starts off slow, then it speeds up when it comes to the interesting part; that is so cool because you get to know the characters and understand them. I think it is pretty much a good book for anyone who would want to read it.

There is nothing offensive in this book at all. But, if you do not like blood being talked about or eaten do not read it.
