LitPick Review
Oneiros by Woodrow M. Bell is a futuristic, sci-fi story of asteroids, space travel, mysterious forces, and most importantly, the struggles of day-to-day life. The year is 2060, and the Earth is under attack by asteroids. Asher, who is a father, son, husband, and most of all, workaholic for his government, is denied a promotion that he was looking forward to. Luckily, his Colonel offers him an opportunity, one that will not only change his life, but quite possibly the lives of everyone on Earth. He is given the chance to travel to space to work with top-tier scientists to uncover the cause of the asteroids. The only problem is the following: Will he make the choice to leave his family behind?
Opinion:
Oneiros by Woodrow M. Bell is a story that makes you want to keep reading even after the last page. It was easy to relate to the many problems Asher faces throughout the book. Maybe not the space-related ones, but his struggles with selfishness and balancing out work and family are problems that normal people have to learn to overcome every day. This was definitely one of my favorite reads, and I'd love to see what happens next.
