LitPick Review
Gorgon is a book about Samantha and Jake and their life-and-death adventure. After their exploits in the first book, Whipeye, Sam and Jake are back to their ordinary routine. They are having a normal day when Charlie, the 1000 year old parrot, tells them to run. Right after they have been told, they see an enormous Komodo Dragon. The Komodo Dragon scratches their parents, who then go into comas. Both the parents and the kids get taken by the government. Luckily, Sam and Jake are able to escape to the Amazon Jungle with the help of the magic staff, Whipeye. They are then thrown into a war with a psycho trying to control KiraKu, the magical world of great power and legendary beasts. Can they save KiraKu again? Can they save their parents? Can their friendship endure its ultimate test? Find out in this thrilling book!
Opinion:
I think Gorgon is the best book in the series so far! This wonderful story was expertly written with an eye for detail like, “We‘re standing under bright sunshine and blue skies on a plain of tall, sweet-scented, green grass waving in a light breeze. A large, pure blue lake sparkles to the north.” The author, Geoffrey Saign, brought all the characters to life. Sam is my favorite character because of her passion for wildlife, and her kindness and compassion for others--animals and humans alike. Gorgon is an amazing book and I cannot wait for book three! I don't think this book is a stand-alone, so I do recommend reading book one of Sam Green and the WhipEye Great Ones (Whipeye) first. I would recommend Gorgon to those who like fantasy and adventure.
