WhipEye is a book about almost 12-year-old Samantha Green who is given a mission she will never forget. On this mission, she needs help from her new friend Jake, her father’s renter Rose, Rose’s staff WhipEye, and a talking parrot named Charlie, who will soon be one thousand years old. Her mission is to stop Magnar from turning the world back ten thousand years, and to save Charlie from becoming a shadow creature on Magnar’s ring. In the process of trying to stop Magnar, Sam realizes how her mother died and learns to accept it. Is it possible for Sam to win? Find out in this exciting book!

Opinion:

WhipEye is a gripping, imaginative adventure from start to finish. I didn’t want to put it down until the very last page! Geoffrey Saign wrote WhipEye in a way to make us believe in and root for the characters. Sam and Jake are two of my favorite characters because they are the heroes of this story and are relatable to real life. If this were real life, I’d like these two as my friends. I would recommend this book for ages 9 and up. Geoffrey Saign did an awesome job on this book, and I cannot wait to read book two!
