LitPick Review
In the book Twisted, Brittany Hawes tells about a girl who goes on an adventure to find her lost parents and also struggles to live on the streets. This mystery story is set in present day and begins with a seventeen-year-old girl named Lola, who is homeless and living in a wet cardboard box on the streets of LA. The story begins when Lola is homeless, poor, and lonely. Lola spends her days trying to work for her money and find her parents, who disappeared years ago. Soon Lola meets a man who claims he can help make her dreams come true. Read the rest of the book to find out if the man actually willing to help.
Opinion:
I would not really suggest the book Twisted. I gave the book a star rating of 3 out of 5 because I thought the book was so so. I don't really like the bad language the text like this: “I was a brat.” Also, it has a very sad storyline (“My current address, a damp cardboard box”) and a slow progression. On the other hand, one thing I like is how well the author describes people, places, and things. I suggest this book for ages 13-18.
