The Nightsiders: The Orphan Army is about ten-year-old Milo Silk, who is just an ordinary boy with some extraordinary dreams.  But when the alien bugs come and try to take over Earth, his life is turned upside down.  Earth is fighting against the aliens.  The ones that can’t fight are scavenging from the downed alien ships and abandoned towns for anything useful.  Milo is scavenging parts with his pod when he discovers a temple.  He then meets a strange girl. Can the humans defeat the alien bugs and save Earth?  Can Milo discover who the mysterious girl is?  Find out in this amazing book!

Opinion:

The Nightsiders: The Orphan Army was an extremely well-described book, filled with action and adventure.  An example is when “Milo adjusted his grip on the next one and pitched it with a split-fingered fastball. The rock burned past the flailing pincer and hit the Stinger in the mouth.”  Jonathan Maberry wrote a wonderful book and I can’t wait for book two.  I would recommend this book to ages 10 and up.
