LitPick Review
Monstrous Affections is "an anthology of beastly tales" and it's wonderful. There are a bunch of short stories written by pretty well known authors all having ideas on the definition of 'monster.' The introduction really draws you in, and each story has its own way of making you rethink who or what you've subconsciously deigned monstrous. My favorite story in the anthology is by Holly Black (author of the Spiderwick Chronicles) and is titled "Ten Rules for Being an Intergalactic Smuggler (the Successful Kind)". Another thing about these stories is their values are very modern, and I would recommend it to people of all genders, races, and sexualities.
Opinion:
I really love this book and all the stories and I plan to reread it multiple times. The pages are already dog-eared and loved, and I highly recommend this book for any lover of fantasy fiction or even realistic fiction. If you like to think, you'll love this book. :)
