Watch Hollow is the story of Oliver and Lucy Tinker. A man named Mr. Quigley asks Charles Tinker (Oliver and Lucy's father) to fix a broken clock at a house he bought called Blackford House, which is located in Watch Hollow. The Tinkers accept.

When they come to Blackford House, they find that the lot on which the house is built is surrounded by an unusual forest called the Shadow Woods. Upon coming into the house (which is in awful condition) they spot a huge, unmoving clock that has animal-shaped holes where the numbers were supposed to be.

While Oliver and Mr. Tinker work on the clock, Lucy finds that Blackford House and the Shadow Woods are magical. She makes friends with the animals that the holes in the clock are meant for. The animals tell Lucy about a creature called the Garr who is trying to take Blackford house and its magic forever through the fear of the animals and the Tinkers. The only way to stop him is by getting the clock to work, but Oliver and his father are still stumped when the Garr attacks. Can Lucy save the animals and her family? Will Oliver and his father be able to start the clock again and save Blackford House and its magic?

Opinion:

Watch Hollow was an enchanting fantasy book for readers ages 8 to 12. There were so many twists and turns that took place in the storyline, making it hard to put down.

In Watch Hollow, there is one main story that is going on with Lucy and the animals, but there are also many underlying plots that contribute so much to the story. This book always keeps you guessing and keeps your heartrate up. I can't wait to read the rest of the story in the book(s) to follow; I will definitely be keeping up with the Watch Hollow series. Such an amazing book!
