Jeremy, Marissa, Selene, Alex, and Patrick are 5 teenagers that are held captive on a planet 2 million miles away from earth. At one time they lived on earth and now they are trying to get back. They were transported to the Shakespearean time period in history and they are just trying to survive. They have been tortured on this planet and because of that, they are relentlessly searching for a sword and use it to get back to earth. They go through ups and downs while trying to get the sword. Will they be successful and find the sword? Are they going to be able to get back to Earth? Or will they be stuck on this horrible planet forever?

Opinion:

Jeremy Austin and the Miervaldis was a mysterious and thrilling novel that kept me guessing what would happen next. The first thing that I liked was the whole concept and setting. I thought the book was really interesting that the characters were held hostage on a different planet in a different time period. Also, the characters and their backstories were intriguing to see what their lives were like before they were held captive on their planet. I liked reading about the planet and seeing the alien’s culture.  I think it was a bit too long which made it a little difficult to get through. I was also not engaged and interested in the story many times, but it started to pick up once I got farther in the book. Overall all this was a pretty good read so I would rate it 4 of 5 stars and recommend it to ages 13 and up that like science fiction and fantasy novels.
