LitPick Review
The Revelation Saga is a thrilling young adult series that follows the story of Gabriel Adam, a 17 year old boy, as he discovers that he is an archangel born as a human. Along the way, he meets the other three archangels and teams up with them to fulfill their destinies to save the world.
In the final installment, Gabe and the others race to close the portal connecting the Earth Realm to the Dark Realm. If they do not do this in time, the demon Mastema will release Hell on Earth.
Opinion:
When reading the summary, the book seemed amazing. The concept of archangels reborn as humans banding together to save humanity reeled me in. I had not, however, known that it was part of a trilogy and did not read the first two books. I read their summaries and excerpts to try to understand the full story. When actually reading the story, I have to say I was a bit disappointed. The story lacks character development and the romance between Micah and Gabriel seemed forced. I quite liked the idea of the archangel Michael being reincarnated as a girl, but found that pairing Micah and Gabriel was senseless and I could have done without it. The book was action-packed, yet even that was a bit boring and the fights felt repetitive.
However, a part of the novel that I did enjoy was the powerful imagery presented throughout the story. It was vivid and realistic, and it takes you to every setting along with the characters and makes it seem as if you were right there.
