Super Girl at Super Hero High is about a superhero girl whose planet was destroyed, so she is sent to a high school for super heroes on Earth. She doesn’t quite understand everything and feels clumsy at times. Her friend Barbra Gordon (Babs) helps her get her powers under control with a special program. Barbra is a tech whiz!  Granny Goodness the librarian makes Supergirl feel at home, but is really using Super Girl to fulfill her evil plans.  Granny Goodness seems sweet and sugary, but on the inside she is the commander of a dark army, the female furies, sent here to force the Supers to pave the way for world domination by supervillian Darkseid. The furies try to place the Supers in a trance, forcing them to stand at attention on command!  Will the Supers be able to shut down Granny Goodness and her schemes? Read this fun book to find out.

Opinion:

I think the author had a great idea for the prologue; it keeps you wanting to read more, yet tells you the beginning of the story. I like how the author puts a spin on the regular Supergirl but keeps the tale true to its roots. The author makes this book feel like a typical high school story as well as a super hero story. The addition of the character Granny Goodness puts it over the top!

I recommend this book to anyone who likes the following: super heroes, mystery, adventure, and above all, suspense.  I recommend it to girls age 10-12, or the tween years. It may prepare you for what’s ahead!

The book can help you to feel more secure about yourself, just like Super girl. Throughout most of the story, she was unsure of herself, but at the end she believes in herself.
