More Than This

On a frigid winter night off the coast of a Washington beach, a seventeen-year-old boy drowns, his head dashed into a stretch of unforgiving rock just off the shoreline, fracturing his skull and severing his spinal cord.  There is no hope, no chance of survival.  The boy dies.  His life is over.  Finished.  Ended.

                Or is it?

Eueka finds out her mother left her items in her will, things that have very important implications. A locket, a thunderstone, and a book with a story of two lovers in Atlantis are what she gets.

The story I read was called Notes to Self by Avery Sawyer. It’s about a girl named Robin who always would get dragged along on adventures with her best friend Emily. Emily was daring, and was never afraid to try new things. One night, she decides to climb up a ride in an amusement park. It was all fun until both girls ended up falling. Both of them ended up in the hospital. They were both injured, but Emily’s was much more worse than Robin. Emily was in a coma, and doctors weren’t sure when or if she would wake. Robin soon finds herself forgetting most things.

The Star Child, written by Stephanie Keyes, is about a seventeen year old character that is graduating his final year of college named Kellen St. James. He is a very interesting character that always manages to bring a slight smile to my face as his rebellious personality keeps me reading as I wait for his next move. I've read through some of the book when I could during school and saw that Kellen and his father aren't on the best terms since Kellen's father never showed to his college graduation because he 'forgot'.
