Rachel has just returned to Riverside Academy from her Easter vacation. One day a mysterious man comes for a tour of her school. When he sees her wearing her bracelet, he returns to his car and speeds away. The next day he comes for a tour again. The day after that, Rachel and her friend Benjamin walk to the post office. While Benjamin runs in to mail some things, Rachel stays outside enjoying the view. All of a sudden, a paper note comes flying and hits her on the head. Rachel unfolds the note, and it reads, “Meet me at one o’clock tonight at the gates to the school.

Seventeen-year-old Sherman Andrews wants nothing more than to be a great journalist. The Missouri Scholars' Academy accepts him, and he is determined to find the ultimate story. As a high school kid on a college campus, Sherman must face growing up quickly. He becomes involved with Charlie, a chubby yet cute librarian, and his journey to journalism begins.

Shortly before dying on the trip to the U.S.A, their grandmother gave them a family "treasure." Now the siblings have to make their way in the new world, which includes getting jobs, changing their names, and sadly for young Danny O'Carolan, pretending to be a girl.

Sarafina Garcia thinks that her grandmother hates her. She does not understand why her mother is so secretive about her past. It all begins with a genealogy assignment at school; all she knows is that the Garcia family is from Chihuahua, Mexico. It is up to Sara to uncover her family secrets. Mom says, “Your father is dead…don’t go digging up old bones,” and her grandmother passed away last spring.

Empty Seats is about 3 boys who get drafted to minor league baseball with the Montreal Expos. They become good friends throughout the season as ball players.  After the season is over, Jimmy, Bobby, and Bud travel home to see their families. Once at home, each boy changes their careers. Even though their careers go in different directions, they stay in contact.

Nate has a lot of pressure on himself that game because if they lose, their family will be killed by the president. The game does not end well.
