The Spinach in My Teeth is a great book with two purposes - to teach and to entertain! It's about a boy who has an embarrassing first day of school - with spinach in his teeth from a spinach salad he has at lunch! At the end of the day, someone tells him about it, and he goes home sad and embarrassed. He says he doesn't want to have spinach again. That is until he meets a few unlikely friends who show him a whole new world of spinach.

Opinion:

I enjoyed this book, as it was entertaining and taught a lesson. The illustrations were well done, and the animals added a cute and funny dynamic to the story. I thought it was funny that Riley had spinach in his teeth, but I also know I would be embarrassed as well if that happened to me. The solution to his problem was a great one that not only helped him eat spinach again but also helped him make more friends after an embarrassing start to the school year.
