Nicole is a barista with dreams of working for a prominent record label. Her roommate Noah, a musician in a band with his brothers, decides they need another roommate, convincing her to allow his brother, Elijah, to move in on a trial basis. As both Nicole and the brothers are offered job opportunities that could lead to dreams come true, relationships begin to blossom as well. Will Nicole and Elijah be able to put aside past issues to make their romance work?

Opinion:

I will start off by saying that the author's writing style was rather poetic, which fit well into the character's voice and the topic of the story. However, the romantic tension was often quite detailed, and sometimes it felt a bit unnecessary. There was one scene that I ended up skipping as a result. Additionally, I was uncomfortable with Elijah's disrespect for Nicole's boundaries when he refused to get dressed at the beginning of the story. In contrast, by the end of the story, he seems to have developed a lot more respect for others, especially Nicole, and I did enjoy seeing that progression. I also appreciate that there were other subplots and conflicts in the background, involving other characters and their relationships, and it was written in such a way that it wasn't confusing or hard to follow.
