The Spinach in My Teeth is a book about a little boy named Riley and his first day at school. Riley has his mom pack him a spinach salad for lunch that day. Riley climbs onto the bus and is on his way to school. His morning is terrific, and then it’s lunchtime! Riley is excited to have a big spinach salad for lunch. It’s his favorite lunch, after all. After lunch, none of the kids want to talk to him. What will Riley do?

Opinion:

The Spinach in My Teeth is a good book for small kids. It's a good book because at times it's funny and at other times it's educational. For example, a few bunnies sing a song about spinach. That part is both funny and educational.  I could relate to the character's problem because food gets stuck in my teeth all the time, and I don’t even know it.  The Spinach in My Teeth had detailed pictures with a big font. The illustrations showed how the characters were feeling throughout the whole book, and without that, the book wouldn’t be the same. I would recommend this book for readers 5-8 years old because of the easy comprehension and simple vocabulary.
