Freedom Flight by Patrick Jones is a well-written insight to the lives of those who share homes with those who have served their country. Paige's mom has finally come home from her last tour of Air Force duty. She has  been looking forward to this time when her mom could come home and her life would be back to normal. Paige's dreams of returning to her previous life are soon destroyed when she realizes that her mom is not only back but she has brought back an addiction to pain pills. The pills are no longer a pain killer but a go-to when memories of war haunt her. Can Paige assist her mom and live her own life at the same time? Or will she have to sacrifice one for the more important?

Opinion:

Freedom Flight is one of my all-time favorite books. Patrick Jones' insightful writing has given me a new perspective on more than one topic, including addictions, family struggles, and the struggles of returning home after serving your country. I am looking forward to reading more of Patrick Jones' literary works of art. His characters are stunningly real and relatable. The only thing that I would like to see expanded on would be the story behind Paige's father and his story. Otherwise, I really loved the book.
