Carey and her younger sister are used to living alone in a camper in the woods, with an occasional appearance by their drug addicted mother. They are used to eating beans every day and sleeping on a small cot together to keep warm. But one day everything they are used to is shattered when Carey's father comes and takes them in. Carey is soon no longer concerned with what her next meal will be but rather if she will ever make friends or if her new stepsister will ever stop being a jerk. But when her new family starts to wonder why Carey's sister stopped talking, Carey starts to wonder if they would still want her if they knew the answer.
Opinion:
If You Find Me is a heartbreaking page-turner that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat the entire book. You will find yourself crying when Carey cries and laughing when she laughs. Murdoch is an amazing author thats makes you understand the struggle foster children go through as they move from a bad home to a kind loving one. Carey will inspire you and rip you to pieces all at once with her attitude and certain love for her sister. This is a great book for ages 13+.
