LitPick Review
Molly McDougal Montgomery McGrath and Other Stories is a funny book that makes you giggle. Imagine never taking a bath, getting an embarrassing present, having a frog as a friend and being pressured to wear weird hats. There are four stories altogether.
The first story is about Molly who doesn’t want to take a bath. Her parents call in a bathing expert to try to get her clean.
The next story is about a boy who gets the most embarrassing gift from his aunt. He does everything he can to avoid having to wear this embarrassing gift.
The third story is about a little boy who tries to convince a frog to spit out his brother. Things get crazy. There are zombies mentioned in this story along with a cartoon drawing of them. I wasn’t scared by it, but I’m not sure how someone else will feel about it.
Lastly, a mayor named Percival lives in a town where everyone wears crazy hats. The town people try every trick to make him wear a hat. Will they be successful? Read Molly McDougal Montgomery McGrath and Other Stories to find out!
Opinion:
If you like to laugh at silly stories, this is the book for you. To read the whole entire book, it takes about 45 minutes. I think George Cooper is a good author because he writes his stories so that kids can understand them. This book would be good for anyone who likes to read short stories. I think readers who are about 8 or 9 would like this book. Other young readers and those young at heart would enjoy it as well.
