Lord Banjo has always looked, felt, and acted like royalty, but now he has proof. For his human father’s birthday he gets a DNA test and finds that he is a descendant of France’s royal dogs. But he is not getting the treatment he deserves! Miss Beverly, his favorite dog-sitter, has declared that he is too fat. What she misses (according to Lord Banjo) is that Great Pyrenees are supposed to be “big boned.” Sadly, his parents agree, and before you can say “Great Pyrenee,” he is on a diet. What will he do? And how will he communicate this dreadful problem to his parents?
Opinion:
Lord Banjo the Royal Pooch is a great book about a silly dog who shares his full opinion on life. This book is perfect for a read aloud to a child between 1st grade and 3rd grade. It has a funny composition, but the plot could have been made a little stronger. The thought of a typing dog will intrigue children and keep them attentive. If you are looking for a read aloud for your kids, this is the perfect book for you.
