Abby's mom disappeared five years ago while shooting a ghost hunter show in a haunted cave in Arizona. Now Abby is 17, stubborn, and determined to make a change in her life. Her dad is in denial and she is helping to take care of them both. Abby is trying to be brave but her once-perfect life is falling apart. When she discovers a book filled with handwritten notes, she realizes it might be time to finally face the truth. Abby gets together with two good friends and Charlie, the son of the cohost who also went missing in the cave. They all sneak away together and journey into the cave. Inside waits a horrible truth that is just the beginning!

Opinion:

This was a very exciting book with lots of suspense and cliffhangers. However, while I liked to action, the story jumped back and forth. One chapter would be in the present, and the next would be a flash back from before they went into the cave. In that way, it made it really confusing to keep all the details straight. Overall, It was a well-written book with good tension.

There were curse words that came up repeatedly throughout the book, and there was alot of intense action. Some people become zombies or possesed and there was graphic violence.
