Fractured: When Shadows Arise is an interesting book about an alchemist trying to find and harness an infinite energy source to make himself rich. He finds out that there is another realm with an abundance of energy. Seeing this, the alchemist has started to open portals to the realm to suck out its energy. The people of this realm are now worried that they might die. To prevent this, they quickly recruit the alchemist's daughter to stop her father from destroying their world… and his.

Opinion:

Fractured: When Shadows Arise is a great book. There are a few things I especially liked about it. The first thing I liked is the great lore and backstory. The author has done a great job explaining what happened before the events in the book. The second thing I liked about this book is the diverse and well-developed characters. The characters have very different personalities. The last thing I liked about this book is the great description. The author does a good job of painting a picture in your mind about this new realm as well as some customs and traditions.

One thing I did not like about this book is that it is very hard to understand what is happening when you first start the book. The lack of information makes it very confusing. However, you start to understand what is going on after the first couple of chapters.

This book is a great read if you like some adventure, magic, and fantasy. I would recommend this to anyone 13 to 18 years. I give this book 5 out of 5 stars. Go give this book a read!
