Authors Elle and Blair Fowler have been making fashion and makeup videos since 2008, and now have over 360 million views on YouTube and 150,000 monthly views on their website. Their novel tells the similar story of two sisters, Sophia and Ava London, who started their career with makeup how-to videos. Now, the sisters are attempting to launch a business in L.A. They interact with many new people, and they find throughout the story that things are not always what they seem. As they work through the story, they set aside their differences as people to better themselves as sisters. Because it ends on a suspenseful cliffhanger, I am hoping for a sequel to come.

Opinion:

This story is simple and well-built with some unexpected plot twists, especially at the end of the novel. I don’t have a sister, but I can definitely see my friends and myself in this story. I especially like the “LonDOs” and “LonDON’Ts” at the end of each chapter, a DO and DON’T list named after the main characters. This novel was a cute, light-hearted story. I really enjoyed it.
