LitPick Review
When Alys was seven years old, a battle began between what seems to be good and evil. At this time, Alys was spared, along with all the children in her village, when two soul eaters destroyed the village. The two soul eaters were once children who faced an ugly version of paranoia amoung human nature. As they grew away from civilization they morphed into something that the people should fear, guided by the Beast.
Alys and the children must go to a fear-ruled village and grow deprived of general decency. Forced to guard their new home at night, they slowly wear away. Alys, sleep deprived and afraid feels the call of the forest and the soul eaters. Terrified of what that means, she tries to be good and stay far from the call, but disaster comes to the tiny piece of happiness she carved away. Alys has to face herself.
Opinion:
This was an alright book. I am biased against it because I had not realized it was a horror book and I am not good with horror. While reading I was completely bone chilled . Despite my inner bias, this book was well written and a good read.
