“Batten down the hatches!” Pirate Pearl and faithful parrot companion, Petunia, are on a daring mission to find lip-smacking buried treasure. Using a trusty treasure map where “X” marks the spot, Pirate Pearl and Petunia cross treacherous terrain that leads them to a potato farm. Almost done for, Pearl and Petunia encounter Farmer Fay. “Sufferin’ seagulls!” On the farm, they discover a mighty hearty treasure! Will Pirate Pearl and Petunia be able to claim it and set sail off into the sunset, or will they be fated to “walk the plank?”

Opinion:

“Ahoy, Matey!” Author Jennifer Concepcion and illustrator Chloe Burgett have created a hilarious and whimsical tale about a pirate and potatoes. The characters are charming, brave, and spirited. The bold colorful illustrations perfectly match the text and lure the reader into a magical adventure of learning. Don’t miss the treasure trove of bonus resources at the end of the book. This is a must-read for landlubbers and fans of swashbuckling adventures. But beware of rib-tickling suspense. If you love pirate tales and have a taste for learning, don’t miss Potatoes for Pirate Pearl! Get yours before the tide turns!"
