LitPick Review
The Curious Club is a book about a girl who is...well, curious. She sees a boy who is sad, and she is concerned. She goes over to him to ask why he is so sad. She also asks him a variety of other questions—some serious, some silly—but all show that she cares. The boy says she is very curious, and she tells him she likes to learn about everything. She asks the boy if he wants to join her club, and he says yes.
Opinion:
This book teaches a good lesson about caring and including others. This is a lesson I feel many younger kids need to learn but have trouble understanding. The Curious Club teaches the lesson in an understandable format, and it has pictures to illustrate what words can't always convey. The only critiques I have are that the characters don't have names, so we don't know who they are. Also the illustrations are a little creepy to me, because the heads are huge and the bodies are regular size. Other than that, it is a great book!
