Webster, the dog, has some bad experiences with owners. All of the owners have hurt him, both physically and mentally. His former owners were horrible to him, and they thought he was “too big.” Because of his size, they drop him off at an animal rescue farm, and he gets homemade treats and a nice soft bed, and he met some “colleagues”... definitely not friends. He’s never had friends, and from his perspective, he certainly doesn’t need them. He never wants to get adopted again, period. Will he find a nice family? Will he realize that not all people are horrible?

Opinion:

Webster: Tale of an Outlaw was a quirky, funny, and sweet book. The summary at first didn’t seem very appealing because it didn’t sound like the book had an interesting plot. I gave it a shot though, and I wasn’t sorry because it was more interesting than it sounded in the summary. It certainly was a page-turner because of the constant adventures in the book. It got very intriguing at about page 50, but it did seem unfinished because of how it ended. It felt like there should have been an epilogue following the book. Other than that, it was very fun to read. I would rate this book 4 of 5 stars, and I would recommend this book to the ages 7-12.
