LitPick Review
Empty Seats is about a boy, Jimmy, who he was 6 years old when he started to play baseball. His father was very good at baseball. He wanted his son to excel so he could make it to the pros, which his dad has never did. Jimmy was taught by his dad and ended up being the best pitcher in his high school. He went to the minors straight from high school and skipped college because he knew he could make it to the majors. While he was in the minors, his coach is harsh. Jimmy thinks he knew everything, but realizes there's a lot left to learn.
Opinion:
The book Empty Seats is a good book for the right type of person. I recommend this book to teenagers who like baseball or follow baseball because there are a lot of baseball references to catch up with in the story. I liked in the story that the dad taught the son how to play all the way up until high school. He was very supportive. I did find this book confusing at times because it jumped from place to place and had many different characters.
