When Alex and his friends Gabby, Ahmed, and Destiny decide to explore an old abandoned movie set that is said to be cursed and caught on fire in the ‘80s, Destiny decides to go off on her own. She falls through the floor and finds a tunnel that leads to an old shed. Alex, Gabby, and Ahmed finally find her in the shed with a bunch of old movie reels. Once they get home Alex realizes he lost his wallet with his ID card, so he has to call his mom. Alex, Destiny, Gabby, and Ahmed think that they are cursed because they trespassed on the movie set. They need to uncover the mystery and get themselves uncursed, but how?

Opinion:

Director’s Cut is a very good book filled with suspense, mystery, and excitement. I never wanted to put the book down because there was always something coming up. I love the friendship Alex has with his friends and how they never leave each other when there is trouble. Even though Alex and his friends are so different, they stick together and find things they have in common. I love mystery books filled with suspense, and this definitely had what I love in a book. Vanessa Acton wrote this book very well, and I felt like I was there with them because of how well she described each character’s personality and of all the details she included.
