LitPick Review
In this inspiring true account about two pumas, Abayomi and his mother live in a place where skyscrapers are coming closer and closer to their natural habitat, forcing them to be increasingly careful about where they hunt. Scientists knew that there were Pumas near these new cities, and they wanted to create corridors to make a safe place for all wildlife. However something went wrong while Abayomi’s mother went out to hunt one day, as she became trapped in a cage! How will Abayomi ever survive in this tough landscape?
Opinion:
This story was beautifully illustrated and had a hopeful ending. There was an environmental message that is good for children to learn at a very young age. Although short, the story had some powerful themes that should interest any young learner and even their parents. I also liked how at the very end of the book there were some facts on pumas, helping people understand just how interesting and vital these animals are.
