It's the beginning of the 22nd Century and the Earth is all but destroyed. An alien organism from a failed mission has destroyed the planet's ozone has made life impossible. A  small part of humanity has gone into space and moon bases on the Moon. The ones that remain on Earth are stuck in giant spheres to protect them from radiation.

At the beginning of the book, we meet 17 year old Alec Corbett who is on the International Space Station (ISS). His first name may not mean much but Corbett is well known all across the ISS. One day in his repeating life of boredom, he discovers information that could expose the Board of Officials, and his dad, Landon Corbett, for who they really are and change the fate humanity. With nothing but this small amount of knowledge and his band of friends, Alec starts in a path that will change the fate humanity forever.

With stakes quickly rising, the chance of all out war and possible extinction of humanity itself starts to seem like it will actually happen, especially since all of it rests on a 17 year old teenager.

Opinion:

Out of 5, I would give this book an 4. The book is sort of slow at the beginning, but it is okay because it has so many details that need to be explained to understand the rest of the book. It also was a tad confusing for me at times, but it was cleared up in the next chapter. One of my favorite things was that you always knew what Alec was thinking, and it was like his emotions were your emotions while reading this book.

Overall, the book was action-packed, thrilling, and it always kept me turning the page even when I didn't know it.

Content rating - some mature content

Explain your content rating:

For the most part, it is definitely a teen friendly book. There are no real vulgar words and very descriptive words about the violence that happens, but there is some violence that might not be suited for some kids.
