After her Uncle Pat forces Eliza to get a job, she begins to work as an illustrator for Orville Tanner and his grandson Charles (Charlie).Eliza starts to notice some strange things about the “fossils” she has to draw. Like the fact that some of them have NOT even begun to fossilize even though they’re from millions of years ago. Eliza begins to think she’s aiding criminals after discovering that and wondering about the reason they want drawings instead of photos. She sneaks out to the Tanner’s house in the middle of the night to find out what’s going on.
