Opinion:
The YOU in ME, Forever... by Prabha Karan is a mixing pot of spiritual, psychological, and philosophical aspects which are blended together to offer a unique insight into the connections that makes us who we are. I found this blend to be quite interesting as it is rare to have an author blend such aspects together instead of arguing for one being more important or better than the other. I particularly liked the way the author would define concepts before exploring them fully. For example, when describing the Intellect, the author first defined it and then went on to define similar yet different concepts like the mind and intelligence to offer an understanding of how they differ from each other. I found this matter-of-fact style to be beneficial to my ability to understand the concepts without feeling overwhelmed. The way the author’s writing style kept a balance between different aspects while offering a logical view of the topic helped me to gain a new understanding of what self-discovery truly is, even though I do not have a background in psychology or philosophy.
