LitPick Review
In The Web Paige Chronicles, the reader is introduced to the character Wilhelmina Evangeline Beatriz Paige. Her friends and family call her “Web.” Web is a twelve-year-old computer and internet genius who helps her friends and others when they have problems with malware, WIFI protection, online scams, and other technological issues. When she helps a friend’s mother, she realizes she has skills that would help others, and she starts her own technology business. Rather than taking money for her work, she asks others to do two favors for others; she calls this her “pay-it-forward philosophy.” When her friends get caught up in dangerous situations, which include cyberbullying and online predators, Web must help her friends get through them.
Opinion:
The Web Paige Chronicles has multiple lessons such as being safe on the internet, what to do if a person has a virus, and many more. I highly enjoyed this book because the characters were loving, funny, and interesting. I read many parts where Web’s dialogue was relatable to my thoughts and feelings. For example, she said that she doesn’t understand how not everyone likes books; I think that too. I definitely recommended this to my friends and family. There were some characters that did things that didn't seem very life-like because the actions didn’t seem like something parents or children would do. Overall, I would rate this book 4 of 5 stars. I would recommend this book to ages 12 and older.
