Tribulations takes place in the year 2029 where technology had advanced a bit from what we have in the world today. The book is about a soldier named Blake Thompson and the challenges he and his friends or associates faced. Starting from his memories of lost loved ones on a vacation with close friends, the vacation soon turned to a dangerous situation for the trio, Blake, Diego, and Sean. They had to use their individual skills to escape danger by working together. This unexpected event was the beginning of their trials. They faced and encountered a lot of tough and dangerous surprises. Previously, aliens on a ship called the Jarisst I from the planet Cjar had helped Blake fight terrorism in the United States. During their present adventures, Blake and his friends discover that there were survivors of this Jarrist I crew, who Blake hadn't heard from since they left Earth's orbit. The United States, where Blake and his friends lived, faced internal crises due to controversies about the aliens, and not too long after, the United States was on the brink of a major world war as a result of the Jarisst I.

Opinion:

Tribulations is an amazing sci-fi book . It was well-written, and the author did a great job. The characters were well-developed, and the story was relatable as it is set in the near future.  This book is full of adventures, suspense, twists and turns leaving you curious, surprises, and incredible teamwork by the three close friends.  There are some characters I took a liking to, one of which is the main character Blake.  He is a man who is always business-minded, getting at things straight to the point. I also like his way of thinking, full of wisdom. Another character I liked was Harry, a member of the SEAL team as well as a close friend of Blake. His brilliance and wisdom amazes me and the fact that he loves studying. The one criticism I had of the book is that I did not understand the time difference of when the aliens left Earth's orbit or were sleeping, as compared to Earth's time. This is the only thing I didn't like about the book. I recommend this book to adventure and action lovers, science lovers, and military lovers, as long as you don't mind violent scenes. I rate it a 5 out of 5. The book gives a vibe of it being continued in the series, yet it could be read as a stand-alone. A great read.
