John and Abigail are a normal (sort of) set of twins on a hair raising adventure through all sorts of trouble. They have a crazy inventor father who is the brain behind several crazy contraptions including the Personal One-Man Helicopter (POMH) and the Foot-Activated Compressed-Air-Powered Page-Turner with Clip on Mount (crazy…right?) When John and Abigail are kidnapped, they need a plan to escape. Their plan to get away from their kidnapper might just be outrageous enough to work. This funny, fast-paced story is a must read for anyone looking for a good adventure story.

Opinion:

While the book was very entertaining, I found the setting to be extremely unbelievable. The voice of the author really came through and was very funny. I always knew there was going to be another laugh around the corner. The author also gave just enough detail to keep me on the edge of my seat. I believe the author's main purpose was to write an entertaining book, and I believe he succeeded in this effort. The fast paced nature of the Templeton Twins was a plus for me, and I'm looking forward to the sequel. While the end was left open, I enjoyed the wrap up of the story in the book. I would recommend this book to other kids who like inventions, comedy, and adventurous writing.

I picked this picture because there is a gun in the book...totally unexpected! I'm glad no one was shot.
