LitPick Review
Rags and Ruins is an exciting adventure book that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The book begins with a goblin named Hargo going to catch catfish when he finds a human baby. Hargo shows him to his wife, who then named him Rags. They brought Rags to The Man in the House, the leader of the scrap yard and landfill, to ask what to do. The Man in the House tells them to keep Rags. The Man in the House goes to the Council, a group of people like himself, to talk about Rags. It is decided that Rags is the Child of Darkness who is prophesied to release and unimaginable horror. The Council says they have already located the Child of Light, who is getting extensive magical training. Will Rags unleash the horrors, or will roles be reversed?
Opinion:
I thought this book was fun to read because it had adventure, friendship, and many twists. It left me sad, like I had just lost a hockey game, that I had to stop reading because of the intense plotline. My favorite part was when Rags, Hargo, and Ladin were captured by the Bullfrog King, and are almost eaten. I also loved the battle between the Child of Light and the Child of Darkness. I would recommend this book to anyone who has read Goblins on the Prowl or any books in that series.
