The story I read was called Notes to Self by Avery Sawyer. It’s about a girl named Robin who always would get dragged along on adventures with her best friend Emily. Emily was daring, and was never afraid to try new things. One night, she decides to climb up a ride in an amusement park. It was all fun until both girls ended up falling. Both of them ended up in the hospital. They were both injured, but Emily’s was much more worse than Robin. Emily was in a coma, and doctors weren’t sure when or if she would wake. Robin soon finds herself forgetting most things. She forgets simple things, like how to take a shower and what her house looks like. She also forgets major things, like how she ended up falling off an amusement park ride. Robin doesn’t recall any of the night of her injury. This story is about Robin trying to figure out what happened that night, and figure out how to go on living her life again. In the process of trying to learn all that, she has to deal with the uncertainty of know if she’ll ever speak to her best friend again.

Opinion:

I didn't like this book. I I understand the whole mystery of the story is finding out what happened “that night”, but I'm the kind of reader who looks for a lot of detail. There were also no character descriptions. When I read, I need to visualize every character, and every setting in my head. Plus, I get that teens do stupid things… but climbing up an unsafe amusement park ride? Considering I would never risk my life for fun, no I don’t relate to any of these characters.
