Notes to Self
"I usually don't read many books in the Young Adult category, but I am glad I read this one - I seriously think this could / should zoom up the charts and be a huge bestseller and I could also see this one being made into a smash summer movie." ~Michael Gallagher "I started and finished this book in about 2 days- something I only do when a book grabs me and refuses to let me go." ~Amazon reviewer "Notes to Self is an emotional journey that any woman, teenager or otherwise, can relate to. It made me think about my own formative years and that connected me to the narrator on a deep level. I recommend Notes to Self to readers who appreciate honest contemporary fiction." ~Amazon reviewer "I recommend NOTES TO SELF very highly. The story is both inspirational and real, which is a difficult combination to pull off. This is a very powerful novel." ~Top 500 Reviewer Two climbed up. Two fell down. One woke up. Profile Picture

The story I read was called Notes to Self by Avery Sawyer. It’s about a girl named Robin who always would get dragged along on adventures with her best friend Emily. Emily was daring, and was never afraid to try new things. One night, she decides to climb up a ride in an amusement park. It was all fun until both girls ended up falling. Both of them ended up in the hospital. They were both injured, but Emily’s was much more worse than Robin. Emily was in a coma, and doctors weren’t sure when or if she would wake. Robin soon finds herself forgetting most things.

Profile Picture

The book starts off with two girls on top of an amusement park ride. The main character wakes up days later and has no memory of what happened. Worse, her friend isn't waking up. The whole book talks about the new struggles she now faces with her brain damage. This book was well written and very original. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a somewhat girly mystery.

Profile Picture

After a tragic, rather mysterious accident occurs, Robin copes with amnesia and dealing with school without her best friend, Emily, who is in a coma. She rekindles a friendship with her old friend, Reno, and together they try to solve the mystery of the accident. Through the memories she can recall and a series of notes she writes to herself, Robin fights to remember what caused the accident, which she feels is the crucial missing piece to the puzzle.
