Dead Boy is a brilliant, magical story about Crow, an average kid, or is he? Crow Darlington died years ago, but when his parents wished for him to come back to them, he did. Except he was just slightly more rotten-smelling than the other kids, and he didn't have a heartbeat. Crow can't leave the safety of his home for the fear that someone might see him, and he doesn't have any friends because of this, so he is quite lonely, until he meets Melody Plympton, his new neighbor. Their friendship changes his life for the better. Together they take on a nasty creature who started all this havoc, and now they intend to finish it. Crow wants to have his life back. Will he get his wish after all?
Opinion:
I really loved the book Dead Boy because I had a hard time putting it down. My eyes were glued to the pages, and I just really enjoyed all of it. I especially loved the book because it was filled with such an exciting adventure, and it had plenty of mystery to give me such eagerness to keep reading. I found myself really understanding the characters thoughts and feelings; it was as if they were actually real. I don't think there's anything I didn't like about Dead Boy.
This is a book that is honestly great for kids of all ages. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys mystery, magic, and a whole lot of adventure. If you like the Nightmares series by Jason Segel and Kirsten Miller, you would like Dead Boy as well.
