Eel finds odd stuff in a murky river and sells it for a living. When London is struck with a very huge outbreak of cholera, most of the town panics and flees because cholera is believed to be spread by a chemical in the air. Eel (having no home) stays and helps Dr. Snow prove to the people of the town that cholera is spread by water. Can he prove to the town committee that cholera is spread by water while maintaining his independence

Opinion:

This is a very awesome book. One of my favorites! Though it does have some things that may make readers want to stop. Those include lots and lots of death, a kidnapping, threatening and a teeny bit of torture. But still I would highly recommend this book. This book also has a lot of suspense and build-up. Overall this is a very good book.
