I thought this was such a unique storyline for a children’s book. I can’t ever recall reading a book with a cheese stick and broccoli crown being the characters of such an entertaining story. As I was turning the pages, I could almost hear children giggling while they are reading along seeing what will happen next to Robbie.

I feel that children will learn that they should not only do everything within moderation, such as Robbie limiting his video game playing time so he doesn’t get so excited that he melts, but also they will learn to listen to their elders because adults always try their best looking out for the children in their lives. Children will walk away learning these lessons while they eagerly follow along to see what Robbie does next that will make them laugh.

The illustrations provided by G Martrise were simple in design, but were the perfect accompaniment to the written story the author wrote. The pictures were colorful and provided on every other page for the readers to enjoy. I couldn’t help but laugh out loud at the illustrations showing how excited Robbie was that he was melting all over the place. I feel that children and adults alike will enjoy this hilarious story.  

Overall, Cool It Robbie is a children’s book that can be enjoyed by any reader, any age, because who wouldn’t enjoy reading the story of an eight-year-old cheese stick! It’s a laugh-out-loud children’s story that comes highly recommended!
