The Bright Promise is a heartwarming book about the world, animals, nature, and hope. The book takes readers on a journey with the animals of the world while they are on the Arc in the story from the Bible. Not only do readers see every animal prancing about, but readers learn about the fear from scary rainstorms and the hope of rainbows that follow storms. This book is an uplifting glimpse into nature and the hope that comes from creation.

Opinion:

While The Bright Promise does not have any main characters or plot points, there are clear themes and lessons to be found in this book. The story mentions fear from natural occurrences like rainstorms and reveals the normalcy in those feelings. Additionally, the book clearly shows that following rainstorms, there is always a rainbow, which gives readers a feeling of hope. This is a valuable theme and lesson that teaches readers that while there are scary things in this world, there are bright, happy, and hopeful things in the world too. The book also includes fun illustrations that follow the active words on each page. If the words read that the animals are prancing or wobbling, the illustrations clearly depict those onomatopoeias from the text. The author also incorporates rhyme and utilizes strong vocabulary words for readers to gain additional educational material from this hopeful book. Overall, this book incorporates educational vocabulary, valuable lessons and themes, and clear and bright illustrations that every young reader will enjoy.
