The Splendid Secrets of 66 Lilly Pilly Lane was an awesome book to read! I was so intrigued by how the author described things at the beginning since the main character, Chia, was blind. It would be extremely challenging only to use four senses since sight was out of the question for her. I also loved the animal characters. The relationships between one another were very sentimental and sweet. 

The Splendid Secrets of 66 Lilly Pilly Lane reminded me of Beauty and the Beast and Cinderella. If you read this book, you will see why. 

The book has a very important theme, which is to take care of yourself and make yourself a priority. One of the characters in the book, who is a tree, tells the girl that she needs to put herself first; she does not listen, and she makes many mistakes. It says in the book that people need to find a balance between being too selfish and too selfless--balance is needed. I have never read a book that has that theme, and I liked it since it was different. 

I would recommend this book for ages 8 and up. I was always trying to guess what would happen next, and I love that in a book. Since there were absolutely no flaws in this book, I give it 5 of 5 stars.
