LitPick Review
In the book "Another Kind of Hurricane," Henry and Zavion are brought together in a special way. Ten year old Zavion had to leave his home in New Orleans due to a tragic hurricane. Zavion and his papa are struggling to leave, because they have no place to stay and no car to get them out of town
Ten-year-old Henry, living in Vermont, is doing everything he can to get his mind off of his best friend Wayne's death. When Henry has nothing left to remind him of Wayne, he takes a marble hidden within Wayne's casket. But then the marble is lost. Henry looks everywhere for it. He questions whether he will ever find it again.
The adventure begins when the two ten year olds meet. Searching for the marble, they find friendship.
Opinion:
I thought this was a good book. The adventures take the reader through a variety of emotions, which is a great thing for a book with two middle school boy characters. I felt it was easy to connect with the two boys, and I enjoyed knowing what they were thinking and feeling.
I think this book would fall in the genre of adventure. If you like plot twists and adventures this is the right book for you.
