After lying to the deceased girls father, Evie is plunged into a nightmarish friendship and an undesirable responsibility to find the girls killer. Evies situation turns even worse when Hadley, her new friend, nearly runs a man over at a local diner. Soon the man is stalking Hadley and Evie, and they cant help but accuse him of the murder. In this twisted tale, Evie the quirky loner is at the wrong place at the wrong time when her crush and sometimes friend discovers a body in Hokepe Woods-a body that turns out to be her childhood playmate. At the funeral, a fateful lie leads Evie into a complicated relationship with the dead girls father and best friend. Before she knows what happening she is on the track of looking for the killer even if she has to suspect everyone she knows.
