In this twisted tale, Evie the quirky loner is at the wrong place at the wrong time when her crush and sometimes friend discovers a body in Hokepe Woods-a body that turns out to be her childhood playmate. At the funeral, a fateful lie leads Evie into a complicated relationship with the dead girls father and best friend. Before she knows what happening she is on the track of looking for the killer even if she has to suspect everyone she knows. "She was gone, every hint of her, and yet it seemed as if the room itself was breathing the breath of shallow sleep, waiting for someone to call it to wake. Rest in peace, thats what we say when we speak to the dead, and then we hold our breath and wait for them to whisper the same words back to us."

Opinion:

The Space between Trees was a great book that young adults whom like crazy driven stories. Katie Williams did a fantastic job in the ending the book. I also love that its a little twisted. The characters that Katie created are perfect for the story line and the story line is great. I would advise only young adults who can handle mild language and mystery like stories to read this book.
